SRQ Preschool of the Arts offers a kid-friendly approach to the academic classroom by offering organized learning centers, visual and performing arts, and developmentally appropriate teacher-directed activities. We strive to offer a safe loving place for children to grow both emotionally and cognitively.

Each week, a learning topic will be introduced and focused on during learning times. Our unique cross-curricular approach reinforces Below is a sample lesson plan for one day of learning.
Topic: Dr. Seuess’ “The Cat In The Hat”
Circle Time: Calendar, sequencing, pre-math skills
Art: Make a Tall Hat and put 10 stripes on (counting, fine motor skills, following directions, colors, sequencing)
Topic: Read, “The Cat in the Hat,” talk about the different parts of a book, authors and illustrators (pre-reading skills)
Music: Singing and Dancing (rhythms, gross motor control)
HWT: Play dough letters (letter recognition, sounds, pre-reading)
Learning Activities: peg boards and sound bingo (pre-math skills, auditory discrimination and listening skills)
Centers: science, blocks and painting (sink / float, fine motor, patterning, creative art, exploration)
* During all activities children will be learning social skills that are imperative for learning in a traditional Kindergarten. Letters, letter sounds, counting and basic math skills will be talked about and introduced throughout the day.
